Long – Morton
John and Mary Beth Morton of Canonsburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy, to Daniel Long, son of James and Lois Long of Kennett Square.
Amy’s grandparents are William and Mary Ellen Zabel of Pittsburgh, Rose Morton of Corry and the late Robert Morton.
Her fiance’s grandparents are the late Wallace and Mildred Sommers and the late Robert and Mitzy Long.
The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School; a 2003 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in elementary and kindergarten education; and a 2006 graduate of George Mason University with a Master of Art. She also completed the new professional studies initiatives in educational transformation program at George Mason and received her national board teacher certification in 2008. She previously worked as an elementary school teacher and instructional coach for Fairfax County Public Schools and is now a full-time curriculum and supervision doctoratal student at Penn State.
The future groom is a 1997 graduate of Sun Valley High School in Aston and a 2001 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., with a Bachelor of Science. He is a validation specialist for West Pharmaceutical Services at the Jersey Shore.
An October 28 wedding is planned.
