Charleroi history society to discuss ‘All Things Isaly’s’
Jay Ramsey will take the Charleroi Area Historical Society and its guests down memory lane with “All Things Isaly’s” during the group’s May 15 meeting.
Ramsey, whose father managed the Charleroi store until it closed, will talk about chipped ham, Klondike Bars and Sky Scraper ice cream cones. He also will disclose little-known facts about what made Isaly’s the place to go for ice cream, salads, dill pickles and more.
A slide presentation will complement Ramsey’s stories, as well as those of audience members.
The historical society meets at Riverside Place in the SPHS Center, Chamber Plaza, Charleroi. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and meetings start at 7.
Light refreshments will be served, and a Sky Scraper ice cream cone will be available for a small donation.
