Lions Club recognizes two seniors at Waynesburg Central
Waynesburg Central High School seniors Kaitlin Fisher and Aaron Sielski were recognized as the Waynesburg Lions Club’s March Students of the Month.
Fisher, daughter of Darlene and Roger Fisher Jr. of Waynesburg, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average and is a member of the art club, ski club, powderpuff football team, yearbook staff, library club, read team, Alpha Beta, Student Council, Varsity Club, Spanish Club, choir, National Honor Society and Leo Club.
She has lettered all four years in volleyball, and was named to the All-County volleyball team. She also was Miss Merry Christmas 2016 and participated in Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week.
Her charity work includes ringing bells for the Salvation Army and donating books to the library. She is a member of Waynesburg First Church of the Nazarene, and works at the Lions Club Day Camp and the Greene County Fair. She enjoys fishing, skiing and sewing.
Fisher plans to attend Robert Morris University to major in finance and marketing.
Sielski, son of Paul and Mary Sielski of Waynesburg, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average and is a member of the boys varsity basketball team, choral union, chamber choir, Varsity Club, library service, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Honor Society.
He was named to the county choir, was recognized for excellence in math, English, science, social studies and foreign language, and received the Bausch and Lomb Science Student of the Year Award.
Sielski is a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and has volunteered in its soup kitchen and helped with fish fries.
He also has done landscaping at Servant Song Ministries.
He is employed as a concession worker at the Waynesburg Aquatic Center. He enjoys playing basketball, bowling and exercising.
Sielski plans to attend Waynesburg University to major in mathematics, with a minor in history.
