WAYNESBURG – Meteorologist Kristin Emery from KDKA-TV will be the guest speaker at the Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s 13th annual Administrative Professional’s Day Luncheon next week.

Emery joined the station in 2012 and has covered every kind of weather event, including floods, blizzards, ice storms, mudslides, tornadoes and hurricanes. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, holding seals of approval from both.

Emery also is a columnist for the Observer-Reporter.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 26 at First Baptist Church, High and West streets in Waynesburg. Employers are able to nominate their staff for the “2017 Outstanding Staff Awards,” and those individuals will receive special recognition, a certificate for their desk and a special treat.

Businesses are encouraged to treat their administrative assistants and other office staff to a sit-down lunch of vegetable lasagna with a vodka sauce, Italian garden salad, rolls, beverage and dessert, followed by a chocolate fountain with trimmings to dip. The meal will be catered by Back Bay Catering.

There also will be a Chinese auction, door prizes and raffles, plus an opportunity for attendees to shop displays of jewelry, gift items and home décor items.
