American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, Washington, recently presented medals and certificates of achievement to 17 eighth-graders. The post has presented the awards since 1912 for courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and service.

Winners from John F. Kennedy Catholic School are:

• Sarah Barron, daughter of Donna and John Barron;

• Marissa McCracken, daughter of Matthew and Stacey McCracken;

• Samuel Nicolella, son of Arlene and Jeff Nicolella;

• Jordan Ruffing, son of Rebecca and Jeff Ruffing;

• Jacob Sanders, son of Chris Fowler and James Sanders.

Winners from Trinity Middle School are:

• Isabelle Carney, daughter of Michael and Rebekah Carney;
