American Legion recognizes eighth-graders
American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, Washington, recently presented medals and certificates of achievement to 17 eighth-graders. The post has presented the awards since 1912 for courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and service.
Winners from John F. Kennedy Catholic School are:

• Samuel Nicolella, son of Arlene and Jeff Nicolella;

Winners from Trinity Middle School are:
• Isabelle Carney, daughter of Michael and Rebekah Carney;
• Bailey DeWalt, daughter of Thomas and Kandi DeWalt;

• Emma Malinak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malinak;
