Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a Campfire Jam Night at 7 p.m. today in Cross Creek County Park, Shelter 3. Musicians who play an instrument are welcome. Bring a chair or blanket. Light refreshments will be served. There is no fee, but registration is required by calling the park office at 724-228-6867.
Chartiers Township Parks Department will offer a Vacation and In-Service Day Playground Program for elementary school children for the 2017-18 school year from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 27, Jan. 15, Feb. 16, March 16, 28-30 and April 2-4 at the Community Center. Amwell Township Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 in the Amwell Township Municipal Building. The executive board will meet at 6:15 p.m. Jack Reynolds, historian, will present a program on the Arlington Cemetery.
West Newton Center for Active Adults will hold a lunch and bus trip Aug. 14 and 31 to Lady Luck Casino. Lunch will be held at the center at 11:30 a.m. A donation for lunch can be given at the center. After lunch, the bus will leave for the casino from West Newton Volunteer Fire Department parking lot on Riverview Drive. Cost is $10. Peters Township, South West Communities, Pittsburgh Airport Area and Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic chambers of commerce will partner together for a multichamber mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, Oakdale. The event will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine. Cost for both members and nonmembers is $20. Potluck lunch and learn featuring OSPTA Physical & Hand Therapy will begin at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Mon Valley YMCA. Denver Byron will discussed certified hand therapy. 2017 New Teachers and Administrators Welcome Luncheon for Peters Township School District will be held Aug. 18 at Valley Brook Country Club, McMurray. ROAR! – Race On Animal Rescue, a 5K and 10K race to benefit Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, Washington, will be held Aug. 19 in South Park.
