The Pittsburgh Steelers and Chevron are searching for 16 outstanding teachers to be this season’s “Leaders in the Classroom.”

In its second season, the partnership, which also receives support from the Grable Foundation and Intermediate Units 1 and 3, recognizes prekindergarten through 12th-grade teachers in western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia who are making a significant difference in the lives of students by providing engaging instruction and curriculum, encouraging lifelong learning and inspiring a passion for education beyond the classroom.

Winning teachers will be recognized during the Steelers regular-season home game Dec. 17 against the New England Patriots with a pregame reception and on the field. They also will receive a donation to purchase classroom materials.
