Valley hospital offers blood analysis screening
Monongahela Valley Hospital will hold its semiannual Multiphasic Blood Analysis screening from 7 to 10 a.m. Sept. 23 in the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center on the hospital campus.
The analysis is $25 per person.
Advance registration is required by calling 724-258-1282 between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Registration deadline is Sept. 20.
From one small blood sample, 36 individual tests will be performed that can detect diseases of the heart, liver, kidneys and circulatory system. The screening also will include a full lipid profile.
Other tests, including a blood test for diabetes, thyroid stimulating hormone, prostatic specific antigen and Vitamin D also will be available for an additional cost.
Participants will be asked to provide the full name and complete address of the physician to whom their test results will be sent. A 12-hour fast is required prior to testing. Those on medication should consult their physicians. Certified medical professionals from the MVH laboratory will administer the tests. The procedure takes between 15 and 20 minutes.
Light refreshments will be served afterward. Parking is free for participants.
