New Freeport Ladies Auxiliary will host a country music concert Saturday at the New Freeport fire hall. Ambassadors for Christ will perform from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Mark Austin will perforom from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5.

Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus, 2201 University Drive, Lemont Furnace, is hosting a free concert featuring Beginnings, a tribute to Chicago, at 7 p.m. Saturday. The concert on the lawn will be followed by fireworks.

Fayette Friends of Animals will hold a “Yappy Hour” fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday featuring a dog wash, face-painting, henna tattoos and music by Cuzzin Eddy at Smitty’s Bar & Grill, 999 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown. Dogs must be leashed and vaccinated.

Managing Your Diabetes will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 5-7 at HealthPLEX. Topics include the importance of controlling blood sugars, diabetes medications, lifestyle changes, meals and methods to reduce the risk of complications. Registration deadline is Tuesday; call 724-258-1483.
