Valley hospital expands its menu at snack bar
The gift shop/snack bar at Monongahela Valley Hospital is making changes to its menu and hours to provide greater convenience to people who seek medical care at the hospital as well as visitors and staff.
Effective Monday, the snack bar will offer Grab ‘n’ Go food items that include healthy salads and wraps, along with hoagies and meals for one.
The new selections are the same items available from Bartolotta’s Giant Eagle. The Grab ‘n’ Go foods are ideal for people who want to pick up a quick meal or snack.
With the gift shop/snack bar located near the main entrance to the hospital, people can easily stop in the shop to take home lunch or dinner after discharge or having tests, when visiting a loved one or following their daily shifts.
The snack bar will offer a limited made-to-order menu that includes soup of the day, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese and hand-scooped milkshakes.
In addition to coffee, tea and shakes, the snack shop also will carry a wide selection of Grab ‘n’ Go beverages, including sports drinks, iced coffees, flavored iced teas, juices and sodas.
Snack shop hours will expand to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The hours remain 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.
The Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc. operates the gift shop/snack bar and will offer a $1 discount Monday through Sept. 3 on all Grab ‘n’ Go salads, wraps, hoagies and meals for one. Money generated from the sale of food, beverages and gifts are donated to the hospital and used for enhancements that benefit patients and their families.
