Arc Human Services honored community members Nov. 15 during a dinner held at Bella Sera, Canonsburg.
This year, three influential community members and five Arc teams were honored.
The first awardee was the Rev. Sally Jo Snyder from the Consumer Health Coalition, who received the Community Supporter Award. Over the last few years, Snyder has partnered with Arc to expand the self-advocacy program, connecting advocates with state senators, representatives and other government officials.
The Customer Appreciation Award went to Budd Baer Automotive, a business that has continually supported the car detailing program at Arc’s Training Center.
Glen Comer was the recipient of the Jim Clark Award. This award is given to a member of the board who has shown unwavering dedication and commitment to Arc and the quality of care provided.
Doug Pickens, Arc’s clinical director, presented achievement certificates to the teams who have shown growth, leadership and dedication to the individuals they serve. This year’s winners are Fayette, Oklahoma-Salem, Paige, Twenty-eight and the Beaver Mental Health Houses. Each individual had the opportunity to speak about the organization and thank those who work with them daily.
