Clarksville Lions name students of the month
The Clarksville Lions Club has named students of the month for September and October.
Taylor Eddy, the granddaughter of Audrey and Michael Murphy of Clarksville, was named student of the month for September. A senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School, Eddy maintains a 3.66 grade point average. She is a six-year member of the marching band and has been head majorette for the last three years. Eddy is a two-year member of National Honor Society, vice president of the library Club and was Jefferson-Morgan’s 2017 Coal Queen representative. Eddy participates in chorus and county chorus. She volunteers at Flenniken Memorial Library and serves as a vacation Bible school leader at Clarksville Missionary Church. In the fall, Eddy plans to attend Penn State University to study forensics. She would like to become a forensic pathologist.
Bobby Coles, son of Bob and Tammy Coles of Jefferson, was named student of the month for October. Coles, a senior at Jefferson-Morgan, maintains a 3.81 grade point average.
He studies computer network technology at the Greene County Career and Technical Center. Coles is vice president of the student council and a member of the Science Olympiad team, National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society.
He is also a member of the golf team. Coles is a recipient of the Xerox Award for Innovation and Technology from Rochester University. During the summer, he completed a work-based experience program through Community Action Southwest.
He also volunteers his time fundraising and raising awareness for Catnip Acres. In the fall, Coles plans to attend Pittsburgh Technical College to study information technology.
