Joe Gorecki, senior warden at Christ Church Anglican, 307 Church St., Brownsville, is spearheading the formation of a Kairos prison ministry team to serve SCI-Fayette.

Volunteers are needed for the program, which will begin March 23 with the first interdenominational weekend at Grace United Methodist Church, 420 California Drive, Coal Center. Training includes mandatory security instruction.

Volunteers are asked to commit to one Sunday evening per month for six to 12 months to work with residents and attend prayer and share fellowship gatherings, as well as work on the outside as prayer warriors, with food preparation and other tasks.

Donations also are needed to purchase Bibles and supplies. The closing service will be held at 2:30 p.m. March 26.

Kairos is an investment in getting residents prepared for release and reacclimated into society.

To participate in the program, contact Joe Gorecki at 724-565-5193 or dodi_923@yahoo.com.
