Servant Song offering various programs
Servant Song Ministries, 720 E. High St., Waynesburg, has scheduled several programs in February. They are:
• “Come to the Quiet” Retreat Day – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 9. The theme of the retreat is “Trusting God is All Seasons.” Scripture suggestions and reflections will be provided to help participants enter into deeper trust. Lunch will be served. Registration deadline is Monday.
• “Christians Anonymous – Still Seeking God When Church/Religion Hurts” – 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 12. When people are hurt because of church or religious affiliation, it can lead to self-doubt, withdrawal and even a sense of alienation that may eventually cause them to walk away from church, family or both. Facilitators will be Dr. Keith Rieder, Pastor Cynthia Deter and Donna Koller.
• “Questions I Can’t Ask” discussion group – 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 14. This group will explore various ways people of faith have coped with questions they’ve been told to stop asking and discuss useful tools in the search for answers. Dr. Keith Rieder, an ordained United Methodist minister, psychologist and associate professor, will lead the group. Registration is not necessary, but helpful.
• “Finding Elusive Happiness” – 6 p.m. Feb. 17 to 5 p.m. Feb. 18. Retreat leader Donna Koller will encourage participants to step back and look beyond their usual understanding of happiness and ponder how each person is invited by Christ to live in a way that will enable them to experience the abundant life Jesus offers. Commuters are welcome. Registration deadline is Feb. 15.
