Glenn Ruse Jr., a 2007 graduate of West Greene High School, will present a talk, “Outsiders in America and New Men in Rome: Cicero and the Election of 2016,” at the TEDxPSU conference Feb. 12 at Penn State University’s main campus.

Ruse is a classicist and Roman historian who works as a production editor with Taylor & Francis in Philadelphia. He graduated from Penn State with a degree in classics and ancient Mediterranean studies in 2012 and earned his master’s degree in ancient Greek and Roman studies at Brandeis University.

He also worked as an adjunct professor of classical studies at The College of Wooster, where he taught a course on the intersection between ancient literature and modern film, before he entered the field of academic publishing with Taylor & Francis in Philadelphia. His focus is on the life and works of Marcus Cicero, the Roman orator, senator and philosopher.
