Local students will perform with the Washington Symphony Orchestra at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity High School during the “Homegrown” concert as part of the orchestra’s Side-by-Side program.

The Side-by-Side program pairs high school students with WSO musician mentors in rehearsals and for the performance of a regular-season concert. The program gives student musicians the opportunity to discover if they would like to play with a community or a professional orchestra after high school.

This year’s Side-by-Side students are:

• Kaylyn Baker a senior at McGuffey High School, flute. Her activities include band, choir, jazz ensemble, marching band and woodwind ensemble. Baker also participates in county band.

• Keegan Bonnet, senior, Bentworth High School, bassoon. Her activities include band, jazz ensemble and marching band. Bonnet also is a member of Community Band South and the Mon Valley Community Band.

• Marlaina Bozek, freshman, Trinity High School, violin. She is a member of Trinity’s orchestra and has taken piano lessons for 10 years.

• Ethan Conklin, senior, McGuffey High School, tuba. His activities include band, jazz ensemble, marching band, honors band, district band and region band. Conklin has played with the WSO before.

• Anja Eshbaugh, senior, McGuffey High School, trombone. Her activities include jazz ensemble, marching band, district band, and county band.

• Sierra Hermann, junior, Trinity High School, clarinet. Her activities include band, marching band and pit orchestra. Hermann also participates in district band.

• Hannah Jones, freshman, Trinity High School, violin. She is a member of Trinity’s band and orchestra and has taken piano lessons for 10 years.

• Alison Spadaro, freshman, Trinity High School, violin. She is a member of Trinity’s orchestra and marching band.

• Ethan Spahn, sophomore, Trinity High School, bass. He is a member of Trinity’s orchestra.

• Audra Terrill, sophomore, McGuffey High School, percussion. Her activities include jazz ensemble and marching band.

• Karla Weaver, freshman, McGuffey High School, cello. Her activities include band and marching band.
