Cyclists, from left, Chris Bergquist, Dawn Jones, Ray Gifford and Bart Williams are shown with Pastor Nancy Pearson at a stop June 1 in Cedar City, Utah.

A four-member cycling group, Sea2Sea, will make a brief stop in Washington Monday through Wednesday as part of a 63-day trip from San Francisco to Yorktown, Va.

The Christian cycling group is traveling to bring awareness to two international organizations that serve poor children in Asia by providing educational opportunities: Shining Light International and Alpha Communities.

Shining Light International empowers oppressed communities in northern Pakistan, and Alpha Communities supports students in the Sichuan region of southwest China and works with foster homes in Mongolia.

The cycling group left California May 18 and plans to end its trip July 20 in Virginia.

The cyclists are interested in sharing their heart for mission. They have stopped at numerous churches along their route, and, in some communities, performed work for the needy.

While in Washington, the group will be hosted by Faith United Presbyterian Church at 900 E. Beau St., and its member families.
