Harold and Susan Haines of Spraggs will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house in their honor from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Blacksville Volunteer Fire Department social hall, 5956 Mason Dixon Highway, Blacksville, W.Va.

Mr. and Mrs. Haines were married July 15, 1967, at Washington Street Methodist Church, Waynesburg.

Their children are Rob (Patricia) Haines of Mt. Morris, Marnie (Jeff) Blake of Spraggs and Cheryl (Jim) Goforth of Bobtown.

They have nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Haines served in the 82nd Airborne U.S. Army during the Bay of Pigs in Cuba.

He has worked at Wade’s Body & Frame Shop, Bennett’s Ford dealership and Goslin Sales Inc. He worked with his father on farm equipment at various farms for many years.

Mrs. Haines worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology before accepting a job at Clay Battelle Community Health Center, where she has been employed for 43 years.

Both are members of Spraggs United Methodist Church.
