Dr. Lindsay Pomykala Kleinwaks has earned a doctorate in microbiology and immunology from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Her dissertation was titled “Investigation of the Essential Nature of the TCA Cycle Enzyme Fumarate Hydratase in Plasmodium Falciparum.” Kleinwaks also has a Bachelor of Science in biology, with a focus in microbiology and organismal biology, from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe. Kleinwaks is a 2007 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are John and Beth Pomykala of Louisiana. She and her husband, Jason, reside in Philadelphia.
Mason Levers, son of Cara Levers and Mark Levers, both of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at Washington & Jefferson College, where he is majoring in business administration. Levers is a 2015 graduate of Trinity High School and is employed at Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Cody W. Pattison, son of Scott and Cathy Pattison of Washington, graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in English.
Dr. Brittany Nichole Speed has graduated from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Va., and has accepted her first match residency in Wheeling, W.Va., where she will specialize in emergency medicine. Speed earned a Bachelor of Science in biology, with a minor in chemistry, from Guilford University in Greensboro, N.C., where she was inducted into the Tri Beta Honors Biological Society and American Chemical Society. She played basketball and lacrosse, earned Student Athlete of the Semester awards and was named an NCAA student representative. Her studies abroad include France and Scotland. She also attended the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartansburg, S.C., where she served as vice president of the Student Osteopathic Medical Association and was named Student of the Year. She participated in mission trips to Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Appalachian Outreach. Speed is a 2008 graduate of Bentworth High School. Her parents are Kathleen and John Korcek of Scenery Hill and Jamie Speed of Uniontown.
