Inventionland, Pittsburgh, held a regional invention contest May 17, where students from area schools went head-to-head in a “Shark Tank”-like competition.

Joey DeMario of Burgettstown won top inventor in the high school category.

Carmichaels students Bailey Jones, Lucas Swartz and Hunter Voithofer won top inventor in the middle school category.

Other high school winners included Fort Cherry for best pitch and Canon-McMillan for best manufacturable design. Middle school winners included Fort Cherry Elementary for best concept model and Washington Jr. High for best prototype.
