UGI contributes $10,000 to WCCF
UGI Energy Services LLC, the midstream and energy marketing subsidiary of UGI Corp., and UGI Storage Co. recently announced their joint contribution of $400,000 in 2017 to support over 60 student scholarships at schools and scholarship organizations across Pennsylvania.
The contribution was facilitated through Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit program. UGI Energy Services has provided $1.6 million in scholarships through this program over the last four years. Scholarships provide tuition assistance for students living in low-achieving school districts to attend local, private and parochial schools.
“We are fortunate for this $10,000 Opportunity Scholarship contribution,” said Betsie Trew, president and CEO of the Washington County Community Foundation. “With UGI Energy Services’ support, students will have greater access to quality education, without putting an economic burden on our families in Washington County.”
