Recycling event set for Greene County Fairgrounds
The offices of state Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson, and Greene County commissioners will hold their second electronics collections event of the year from noon to 3 p.m. June 14 at the Greene County Fairgrounds Arena.
Among electronic items accepted by JVS Environmental are computers (including laptops, as well as computer components such as printers and monitors), video cassette recorders, stereos, cameras, telephones, electronic cables, games and calculators. Only one television per vehicle load will be accepted. Some waste-handling fees may apply for items such as fluorescent lighting tubes and items containing Freon.
Items not accepted include sweepers, hair dryers, sewing machines, compact discs, alkaline batteries, smoke detectors and thermostats.
