Greene County offers free day camp
Greene County Summer Day Camp, a six-week session program, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 19 through July 28.
Preregistration begins from noon to 3 p.m. Friday at all camp and pick-up locations. Registration also will be accepted at any time during the six-week session. All programs will begin at 10 a.m. Sign-in will begin at 9:40 a.m. each day.
Children ages 5 to 15 are eligible. Campers will be offered a variety of free activities, including arts and crafts, games and educational programs. They may also swim at any of the three county pools for $2 per day.
Campsites are located at Waynesburg Lions Club Park, Mon View Park in Greensboro, Wana B Park in Carmichaels and Ryerson Station State Park in Wind Ridge.
Pick-up/drop-off locations are located at Bobtown Elementary School (transported to Mon View Park), Jefferson Township Park (transported to Wana B Park), Nemacolin Fire Hall (transported to Wana B Park) and Morris Township Community Center in Nineveh (transported to Ryerson Station State Park).
Campers can participate in educational programs “Up Stream” or “You Being Physical in Science, Technology, Recreation, Engineering, Art and Math.” Programs start the first week of camp.
All meals, supplies and activities are provided. A end-of-camp picnic will be held July 28 at Wana B Park. Programs will not be held July 4. For more information, call 724-852-5323.
