Waynesburg University hosts STEAM camp
High school students interested in a scholarship to pay for a weeklong Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics Camp at Waynesburg University this summer have until Friday to submit an essay.
The university is hosting a STEAM camp, sponsored by Chevron, July 16-20.
The camp will include an engineering and technology session and a science on social media session.
For their third session, students can choose from acute injury care, chemistry, pharmacology, biotechnology, biochemistry, anatomy, mathematics, nanotech materials or digital animation.
The camp is open to all high school students and costs $250, which includes lab experiments, lodging in the university’s upperclassmen residence halls and meals throughout the week.
The university is offering a limited number of scholarships to students in need of financial assistance.
To apply for the scholarships, students must write an essay about their passion for STEAM fields and why they would like to attend the camp.
Essays should be submitted electronically to Sarah Bell at sbell@waynesburg.edu. Recipients will be notified by June 30.
Students can register for the camp at www.waynesburg.edu/steamcamp.
