Old Trails BPW awards scholarships
Old Trails Business and Professional Women presented scholarships to four area high school students at its June meeting.
Dakota Staley, daughter of George Staley and Amy VanDivner, received the Pamela J. Antonio Memorial Scholarship. A 2017 graduate of California High School, she will pursue a degree in psychology at Robert Morris University.
Samuel Marchewka, son of Shawn and Terri Marchewka and a 2017 graduate of Charleroi High School, also received the Pamela J. Antonio Scholarship. He will attend Duquesne University to pursue a degree in finance.
Receiving the Helen Harkins Memorial Scholarship was Shannon Ortosky, daughter of Bryon and Beth Ortosky. She is a member of the 2017 graduating class at Beth-Center High School and will be attending California University of Pennsylvania to pursue a degree in secondary education and mathematics.
Also receiving the Helen Harkins Memorial Scholarship was Sara Tomko of Bentworth High School. She is the daughter of Melissa Tomko. Sara has been involved in theater and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Washington County Peer Jury. She will attend the University of Pittsburgh to pursue a degree in economics and plans to become a corporate transactional lawyer.
