Gravel – 100 years
Jennie J. Gravel of Washington will celebrate her 100th birthday at a luncheon at Washington County Health Center with her family and friends.
She was born July 4, 1917, in Washington.
Her husband is the late Al Gravel, who passed away 24 years ago. The couple married in 1939.
She has a daughter, Janet Carey, and a grandson, Gregory Carey, both of Washington. She has two great-grandchildren, Rhiannon Michaels and Jennifer Dinardo, and three great-great-grandsons.
Mrs. Gravel is a longtime member of St. Hilary Church, where she worked many fish fries. She enjoys baking, traveling and polka festivals. She retired from the RCA in 1981 with 31 years of service.
