Carmichaels civic club honors girls of the month
Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club recently recognized its Girls of the Month for January and February, Sierra Hedrick and Paige Armstrong, respectively.
Both are seniors at Carmichaels Area Junior/Senior High School.
Hedrick is a member of the National Honor Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bots I.Q., Quarterbacks For Life, Senior Standing committee, book and srt clubs and E.M.T., and she is captain of the marching band’s color guard.
Hedrick is a circulation specialist at Flenniken Public Library and also is a tutor and involved in interior organization and community service.
She plans to attend Pittsburgh Technical College to pursue an associate degree in surgical technologies, with hopes of going to medical school to become a neurosurgeon. Her parents are Bruce Jr. and Christie Hedrick of Carmichaels.
Armstrong is a member of the National Honor Society, chem club, band, chorus, softball, Senior Standing committee and book club, and serves as the basketball announcer.
Armstrong likes to read, listen to music, hang out with her sister, watch movies and sing at community events, including Wreaths Across America and the 9-11 ceremony.
She plans to attend a four-year college and major in history, with a minor in music. Her parents are Ryan and Judy Armstrong of Carmichaels.
