Chess Tournament scheduled for today at Citizens Library has been canceled because of staff illness. If the tournament is rescheduled, it will be announced at a later date.

Thirty-one Bingo will be held Sunday at Waynesburg Moose Lodge. Doors open at noon, followed by bingo at 1 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door. Proceeds benefit Relay for Life Moose Family Pride Team. For more information, call 724-627-8028.

Waynesburg University will celebrate its 167th anniversary of its charter during a convocation ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Roberts Chapel. The university will honor the 25th anniversary of its Bonner Scholar Program, the first of its kind in the state. The scholarship program offers selected students financial assistance in return for a commitment to service while enrolled at Waynesburg. A Day of Service called “25 for 25,” in which students, faculty, staff and alumni served at 25 different locations throughout Allegheny, Washington and Greene counties, was held March 18.

Jefferson United Methodist Church will hold a baked steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Jefferson Community Center. Menu includes baked steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, country-style green beans, candied carrots, coleslaw, pickled beets, rolls, dessert and a beverage. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Takeout will be available.

Washington-Greene Counties Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will hold its seventh annual “We, Too, Can Dance” charity social from 6 to 10 p.m. April 1 at Elks Lodge 776, Washington. The theme is Mad Hatter. Tickets are $35 per person or $70 per couple and include dinner, cash bar, homemade desserts, meeting the Nittany Lion and dance lessons. There also will be silent and Chinese auctions and a wine pull. All proceeds benefit Penn State’s THON. Deadline to purchase tickets is Monday. Breakfast with the Bunny will be held from 9 a.m. to noon March 25 at McDonald Train Station. There will be pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee, plus crafts and coloring for kids.
