Peters Township Chamber of Commerce will hold its third annual Bowling “Fun”raiser from 6 to 9 p.m. April 4 at The Meadows Casino. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Donations of gift baskets, gift cards and more are being accepted for the auction. Proceeds benefit the Peters Township Chamber Community & Scholarship Fund. Grindstone Lions Club will host a “Chicken ‘n Biscuits” dinner from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 4 at Route 40 Classic Diner, 6229 National Pike East, Grindstone. The Lions Club also is seeking donations for a Chinese auction that will be held during the fundraiser. Gifts are tax-deductible. To donate, call John Novak at 724-785-6427. Tickets are $8. Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a Flight of the Timberdoodle program April 4. The American Woodcock or timberdoodle is an overlooked sign of spring. The group will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Shelter 6 in Mingo Creek County Park to seek out timberdoodles. Participants will listen for the male “peenting” and watch the evening sky to observe one of the most unqiue displays of courtship. Dress for moderate hiking and the weather. A flashlight may be used for the return hike. The program is free but reservations are required; call 724-228-6867.
