Hopwood Amvets host Armed Forces event

Hopwood Amvets Post 103, 123 Buttermilk Lane, and state Rep. Matt Dowling, R-51st District, are co-sponsoring a picnic and ceremony May 20 for Armed Forces Day.

The event is open to all veterans and families, as well as those who want to honor the service of military men and women.

Keynote speakers for the 1 p.m. ceremony are Marine Cpl. Brandon Rumbaugh and Madonna Nicklow of the Veterans Administration.

The event, which opens at noon, includes informational booths. The picnic will follow the ceremony.
