Teen Outreach’s awards night on tap
Washington Health System Teen Outreach’s 15th annual awards night will begin at 7 tonight in the auditorium of Washington Park Elementary School, 801 E. Wheeling St. Admission is free.
The event recognizes individuals, community agencies and businesses that have provided extraordinary support in the past year to the Teen Outreach mission to young people. Senior peer educators are also recognized.
Peer educator members from the Real Talk Performers will perform an original educational drama. “Debate without Hate,” an original one-act play by peer educators Elizabeth Gysi and Landan Weakland, focuses on civil discourse, and will be presented by performers from Trinity and Washington High Schools.
Taylor Prezel, Washington’s Got Talent’s 2017 first-place winner, and Rueben Brock, a dancer from the second-place winning group, The Brotherhood, will also perform.

• Power Award: Carla Dunlap, Pam Kilgore, Suzanne Kelley and Alexandra Brooks
• President’s Award: Venus Standard
• School Administrator Award: Paul Kostelnik, principal, Washington School District,
• Service Award: Kristy Trautmann
• Social Justice Award: Ngozi Doreen D. Tibbs
• Spirit Award: Washington County Commissioner Diana Irey Vaughn
• Youth Achievement Awards: Cali Eustis, Elizabeth Gysi and Zhiere Patman, Mariah Chobany, Celia McClure and Chanci Stroud
• Youth Advocate Award: Christy Stanek
• Volunteer Awards: Ashley King, Ben Maxim. Leatrice Thomas and Dr. Kyle P. Duff
