Day

Trinity High School will graduate 247 seniors at 6:15 p.m. Friday at the Trinity High School campus.

There are five valedictorians. They are Benjamin Artuso, Abigail Faust, Kaci Hott, Rachel Ratvasky and Cameron White. Michelle Biksey is the salutatorian and Stephen Day III is the honor graduate.

Artuso, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Artuso, was a National Merit Scholar and an AP Scholar with distinction. He was a Washington Symphony Orchestra competition winner for outstanding young instrumentalist and has served as a drum major with the marching band.

Artuso was dual enrolled at Washington & Jefferson College during his senior year. He was a member of the National Honor Society and TRI-M Music Honor Society. He will attend the University of Virginia to pursue degrees in economics and mathematics.

Faust, daughter of Dr. Michael and Stephaine Faust, was an AP Scholar with distinction, a National Merit Commended student and a member of the National Honor Society. She received the Italian American Cultural and Heritage Scholarship, the Penn State University Engineering Scholarship, the Washington Financial Charitable Foundation Scholarship and the Schreyer Academic Scholarship.

Faust was a member of the Math League, Academic League and the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science. She will attend Penn State University Schreyer Honors College to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering.

Hott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hott, was student body secretary and secretary of the National Honor Society. She was the sports editor for the yearbook and a member of the SADD club.

Hott received the Lions Club Scholarship, the MarkWest Scholarship and the Marines Academic Excellence Award. She will attend Penn State University to pursue a degree in chemical engineering.

Ratvasky, daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Timothy Ratvasky, was a member of the National Honor Society , the Physics and Engineering club, the German Club and the German National Honor Society. She received the Wesbanco Challenge Program Academic Excellence Award, the Society of Women Engineers Certificate of Merit and the Washington Financial Charitable Foundation Scholarship.

Ratvasky will attend Penn State University to pursue degrees in physics and mathematics.

White, daughter of Craig and Dr. Corinne White, was the vice president of the Trinity Leadership Committee and a member of the National Honor Society and varsity track and field team. She received the Provost Scholarship and is a National Buckeye Scholar. White is a member of the Perfection All-stars, a competitive cheer team. She will attend Ohio State University to pursue a degree in animal sciences.

Biksey, daughter of Tom and Germaine Biksey, was a member of the National Honor Society, Math League and Academic League, was a section leader in the marching band and a member of the TRI-M Music Honor Society.

She received the AP Scholar Award with honors and the Ron Matthews Memorial Award in chemistry and the College Scholar Award Scholarship from the College of Wooster. She will attend the College of Wooster to pursue a degree in biology.

Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Day Jr., was an AP Scholar, a speech and debate state and national qualifier, WPIAL Academic/Athlete nominee and received the Kiwanis Club Scholarship and the Washington-Greene Sports Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete award.

He was student body president and a member of the National Honor Society, speech and debate team and the varsity track and cross country teams. He plans to attend Penn State University Smeal College of Business.
