The Rev. Dr. Allen Foster takes on the persona of 16th century Scotsman George Wishart in delivering the sermon. Foster earned his Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and served as the pastor of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon.

A celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation was held Oct. 29 at Church of the Covenant in Washington.
The congregations of Covenant, Faith, Laboratory, and First Presbyterian churches of Washington collaborated on the celebration.
Plans for a procession to the church from the Washington County Courthouse were changed because of the cold, rainy weather. The celebration included special music and insight into the difficulties Protestant reformers faced in Scotland.
