Bus safety
The Annual School Bus Safety Week reception took place Oct. 17 at the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania School Bus Association joined other members of the school transportation community during this special week to promote school bus safety and to recognize and thank those who work so hard in the school bus industry. During this year’s reception, students were recognized for their winning entries in the annual School Bus Safety Poster Contest. Students from across Pennsylvania submitted creative entries relating to this year’s theme: “My Driver – My Safety Hero.” The winning poster in each of the three categories will be submitted for the national judging. Winners of the Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Safety Competition were also honored during the School Bus Safety Week reception. The state Department of Transportation presented each of the drivers with a special certificate. Fred Bennett, PSBA President, presented the top winner in each division with a special traveling trophy from PSBA.
