A unique, multisensory Christmas family event called The Walk through Bethlehem & Open House will be hosted from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Grace UMC, Coal Center. Families will step back in time to Bethlehem, exploring Jesus’ miraculous love in an interactive marketplace setting. Kids and adults will be placed in a fully immersive experience where they interact with shopkeepers, shepherds, Roman soldiers and animals. Guests will enjoy trips to the Bethlehem Bakery, Woodworking Shop, Fisher’s Pier, Spice Shoppe, Pottery Shoppe, Census Taker’s Office, and Wool Trader. And no trip to Bethlehem would be complete without experiencing the ultimate miracle of Jesus’ miraculous birth. After families experience this adventure together, discovering more about Jesus’ life on earth in a way they’ll never forget, they will have the opportunity to make advent wreaths and other keepsake crafts they’ll treasure.
