Waynesburg University’s Department of Fine Arts will showcase a collection of student artwork Monday through Dec. 8. The art show, which includes drawings, functional ceramic pieces, jewelry, prints and sculptures, will be held in the Benedum Fine Arts Gallery and opens with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Peters Township is once again participating with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in collecting Toys for Tots this holiday season. New, unwrapped gifts for children from infancy to 14 years of age may be placed in the collection boxes anytime through Dec. 8. Collection boxes are located at the Peters Township Community Recreation Center and Peters Township Public Library. Items can also be dropped off at the tree-lighting ceremony at the library, which will take place at 6 p.m. Dec. 3. For information, call 724-942-5000.
Home Instead Senior Care offices serving Allegheny and Washington counties is holding “Be a Santa to a Senior.” Through Dec. 9, shoppers can support the program by visiting a participating location where trees are on display, choose a paper ornament featuring seniors’ first names and their desired gifts, buy the requested gift and return it to the store unwrapped with the ornament attached.
