Sollon – 50 years
David and Mitzi Sollon celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a surprise formal reception attended by family and friends at the home of Phillip and Peggy Sollon. The Rev. Jack Batykefer conducted a Catholic service in which the couple renewed their wedding vowels and received a nuptial blessing.
Mr. and Mrs. Sollon were married August 5, 1967, at Saint Genevieve Church in Canonsburg by the Rev. Edward R. Szelong.
They are the parents of two sons, John David Jr. (Tammy) of Morgantown, W.Va., and Louis Nicholas (Robin) of Canonsburg.
They have seven grandchildren, Garrett, Tyler, Megan, Jordan, Nicholas Paul, Shelby and Madison.
The couple is well-known in the Canonsburg area for their many years of operating Sollon Funeral Home Ltd. and their involvement in civic activities and organizations.
