Cokeburg Presbyterian Church, 100 Washington St., will hold a fundraising event at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 to support Heifer International, which provides livestock and training to struggling communities around the world. At 7 p.m., chalk artist Gary Means will create two pieces of art, which will be auctioned off at the end of the program. Food and drinks will be available. Tickets are $10 each. West Hills Symphonic Band will open its 2017-18 season at 3 p.m. Oct. 15 at South Fayette High School. The free concert will feature music by Mendelssohn, Sousa, John Williams, Khatchaturian, Arthur Sullivan and more, plus “Fortress Variations” by Tim Waters, a musical commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
