Symposium set at Mon Valley Hospital

“Essential Updates for the Practicing Physician” will be the focus of Monongahela Valley Hospital’s 27th annual Medical Staff Symposium, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25 in the hospital’s Anthony M. Lombardi Education and Conference Center.
Topics and speakers include:
• “Contemporary Perspectives on Aspiration and Pneumonia” – Dr. Jonas Johnson, UPMC, Pittsburgh;
• “Cardiology: Update on Cardiac Arrhythmias” – Dr. George C. Shaw, Allegheny Health Network, Pittsburgh;
• “G.I.: Update of C-Diff Colitis Failure Patients” – Dr. Tatiana Bogdanovich, UPMC, Pittsburgh;
• “Endocrinology: Complications of Diabetes” – Dr. Leann Olansky, Cleveland Clinic;
• “Update on Opioid Crisis” – Meghna Patel, MHA, Pennsylvania Bureau director for Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.
The hospital is accredited by the Pennsylvania Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This live activity is designated for a maximum of 5.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. In addition, MVH will provide 5.0 CEs for nurses in accordance with Pennsylvania Professional Law Section 12.
