The Washington Flyers’ Club announced its officers and board of directors for 2024. The clubhouse is on the Washington County Airport Washington grounds, where the group has existed since 1952.
When you were young, did your parents or grandparents take you to the airport just to watch the airplanes fly? Do you look up in the air whenever you see an aircraft fly over? Well, we do! The Washington Flyers Club is a group of aviation lovers at the Washington County Airport and invites all those with a similar appreciation to join. Our group consists of pilots (both professional and recreational), flight instructors, aircraft maintenance pros and aviation enthusiasts. Meetings are on the first Friday of every month, with a short business meeting, a short program on aviation and a social gathering for the rest of the evening.
Meetings are a great place to network with the aviation community here in Washington County. Washington Flyers’ Club partners with the local Civil Air Patrol, which uses our facilities for their meetings, and the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter #842, which jointly hosts an annual EAA Young Eagles Rally where youngsters 8-17 receive a free airplane ride around Washington County.
