The Greene County Chamber of Commerce recently presented the annual Educational Fund scholarship and the Dr. Nancy Davis I Davis Memorial Leadership Scholarship.

The 34th Annual Educational Fund Scholarship was presented to Kara Mackey, a homeschooled student and class of 2024 graduate. Mackey is the daughter of Brad and Kelly Mackey of Waynesburg. She is undeclared for her course of study but will attend Messiah University in the fall. In addition to the scholarship, Mackey also received a laptop courtesy of John Frownfelter, owner of PCsquared, to use during her college career. Eighteen applicants from all over the county applied for the scholarship.

The Dr. Nancy I Davis Memorial Leadership Scholarship was presented to Alexa Mori of Carmichaels Area High School. Mori is the daughter of Anthony and Lois Mori of Carmichaels. Mori is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in medical imaging at Mount Aloysius College in the fall. A total of twelve applicants from all over the county applied for the scholarship.

Both Mackey and Mori were special guests at the chamber’s monthly Business Connection luncheon at which they both shared their scholarship essays. Both scholarship recipients proceed their older brothers, both of which received chamber scholarships in recent years.
