Amwell Township Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary is sponsoring an appreciation luncheon from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Amity VFD social hall for all current and past members of Amity VFD and the auxiliary.

Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will hold a public star party at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Mingo Creek County Park Observatory. The event will be held rain or shine. The planetarium schedule is as follows: sky show, 8 p.m.; presentation, “Introduction to Amateur Astronomy; sky show, 9:30 p.m.; and movie, “Cosmic Castaways,” 10 p.m.

Jefferson Township Historical Society will hold a 9/11 ceremony at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Jefferson Township Veterans Memorial, Eldersville. Emma Gragan will sing and Diane Huggins will provide tributes to 9/11 victims. Refreshments will be served afterward at the White Church.

McGuffey Community Park has openings for crafters for the Brownlee Covered Bridge Festival Sept. 21 and 22. For more information, call 724 663-5015.
