Monongahela Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the parlor room at First Presbyterian Church, Sixth and West Main streets, Monongahela. Speaker will be Scott Frederick, a retired teacher in Ringgold School District who will discuss “The Cincinnati Mine Disaster,” which occurred April 23, 1913.

After-hours movie night for those 13 and older will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Peters Township Library. “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” will be shown.

Buffet breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Claysville United Methodist Church, 1279 Route 40 West. Proceeds will be used to purchase new furnaces. A love offering will be accepted. Takeout will be available.

Youth Advisory Council will meet from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Peters Township Library.

Magic Tree House Book Club for second- through fourth-graders will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Peters Township Library. “Leprechaun in Late Winter” will be featured. Register at the children’s reference desk.

Teen Book Club will meet from noon to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at Peters Township Library. “The Angel Experiment: A Maximum Ride Novel” by James Patterson will be discussed.

Greater Wheeling Chapter 280 of the Mended Hearts Inc. will meet at 7 p.m. March 11 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, conference room B. Guest speaker Dave Palmer of Wheeling Fire Department will discuss fire prevention. Call Mary at 304-280-5221.
