Spaghetti dinner to benefit cancer patient Kim Dunn will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Meadow Lands United Methodist Church, Pike Street.
Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a Celebration of the Pines outdoor wreath-decorating event at noon Nov. 30 at Shelter 3 at Mingo Creek County Park. A fresh pine wreath will be provided, along with an array of natural items to create a wreath. A bow-making lesson will be included. There will be a camp fire, and cocoa will be provided. Please a pair of hand pruners, wire cutters and scissors. Class size is limited, and advance registration is required. Fee is $25 per wreath. Call 724-228-6867 to register.
Free breakfast for hunters will be held from 4 to 7 a.m. Dec. 2 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Route 18 south, South Franklin Township. Menu will include bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, potatoes, toast and coffee.
Genealogy Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania will hold its annual general membership meeting and holiday luncheon at noon Dec. 7 at Citizens Library, 55 S. College St., Washington. Marilyn Holt, head of the state Department of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and president-elect of the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, will be guest speaker. Three pioneer families also will be honored. RSVP by Dec. 1. Cost is $15 per person. Checks or money orders can be sent to GSWWPA, 55 S. College St., Washington, PA 15301, Attn: C. Campbell. Include the number of people who will attend, amount enclosed and name. The menu includes baked chicken, stuffed shells, parsley potatoes, green beans with bacon, salad, beverages and desserts.
