Monongahela Area Historical Society will hold a masquerade ball at 8 p.m. Oct. 26.
Advance tickets only are being sold. The ball will include a candlelight ghost walk tour.

Mother Earth Farm, 610 Apple Hill Road, Waynesburg, is celebrating the fall season with a haunted orchard and old-fashioned hayrides from 7 to 9 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in October.
Cost is $5 per person and includes the haunted orchard and hayride. Guests also can choose to visit the haunted barn for $5 or a combined ticket for $8. Children younger than 3 are free.
In addition, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sundays, all-age hayrides will be given.

Nemacolin Castle in Brownsville will host ghost tours from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in October, plus Oct. 31 and Nov. 1-3.
Ghost legend and paranormal stories will be told by tour guides in the darkened rooms and hallways of the castle.
Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger.

Owners of historic homes in North Brownsville will share paranormal experiences at their properties during the first Northside Ghost Walk, which will begin at 10 p.m. Oct. 18 and 19.
Guided walking tours of Front, Market and Church streets will be conducted by vintage-costumed homeowners, who will spin real-life tales of experiences, sightings and unexplained occurrences at 12 properties and conjure up images at the historic Episcopalian Cemetery, where George Washington’s cousins are buried.
Tours are $7 per person and will begin in the parking lot of Brownsville Fire Company 1, 520 Market St. Advance tickets can be purchased by contacting Jeff Wilhelm at 724-880-6528 or jeffrey.wilhelm@verizon.net. Ticket sales will begin at 9:30 both nights at the fire hall. Tour groups will leave the fire hall at 10 p.m. on a staggered basis. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring flashlights.
All proceeds will benefit the Northside Beautification Project, an ongoing effort by a committee of homeowners to enhance the neighborhood.
Scaremare 2013 will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in October and Oct. 23 at 176 Main St., Monongahela.
Ticket office opens at 6 p.m. Cost is $15 per person, or $12 with a coupon that can be obtained online at www.scaremare.net. Rates of $10 per person for groups of 10 or more also are available. Call 412-444-9500 to register.
All proceeds will benefit area charities, including Teen Quest and missionaries in Ecuador and the Philippines. Teen Quest is a ranch in Somerset that reaches teens through year-round camps and events.
Peters Township Haunted Trail XIV, “How to Survive a Horror Movie,” will be held from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Peterswood Park. Cost is $5 per person.
