Book fair will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13 in the community room of Washington Hospital. Proceeds benefit Washington Hospital Auxiliary.

California Area Historical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Gallagher House, 429 Wood St. Dr. Bonnie L. Reese, curator at Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, will discuss “Preservation of Vintage Photographs, Textiles and Paper.” Light refreshments will be served.

Monongahela River Buffs will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at the River Museum, 175 Second St., Monongahela. The program will be a viewing of the award-winning WQED video “Flying Off the Bridge to Nowhere!
