Friends of Bentleyville Public Library are selling “Don’t Cook For a Week” tickets that includes a chance to win $50 gift cards to Applebee’s, Cracker Barrel, Max & Erma’s, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster and Texas Roadhouse, plus a $50 gas card. Tickets will play on the evening drawing of the May 3 Pennsylvania Lottery. Tickets are $2 each and can be purchased at the library or by contacting a Friend of the Library.

Friends of Bentleyville Public Library are collecting gently used or new costume jewelry, scarves and handbags for their annual sale in November. Items can be dropped off at the library during operating hours.

Play & Learn parent-toddler workshop will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Wednesdays in May. The workshop is for 1- to 3-year-olds and a parent or adult caregiver. Each week’s program will include circle time, play time, an art activity and individual time with a community resource professional to discuss children’s health and development. Enrollment is limited, and registration is required by contacting the Children’s Department.

Teen Advisory Board for sixth- through 12th-graders will meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10. Plans for “Summer Reading for Teens: Spark a Reaction” will be discussed. Lunch will be provided. The board will not meet in June.

Lunch with Friends will be held at noon May 13. Jonathan A. Gottschall, author of “The Storytelling Animal: How Stories Make Us Human,” will speak. The program is free. Lunch will be available following the program for $5.

College Bound: Careers, Majors and Money for School will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 13. Open to students, parents and guardians.

Teen Crafternoon – Mark the Book will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 14. Participants will make their own bookmark.

Summer Job and Internship Fair will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. May 19. The program will introduce teens and college students to local job and internship opportunities for this summer. The will meet possible employers and can apply for positions. Interview attire and résumé are recommended. Librarians are available for résumé assistance.

Learn 4 Life, six-week online classes on business, technology, health, parenting, hobbies and more, begin May 21. Classes are free with a library card. Registration is required.

Tween Book Club for fourth- through seventh-graders will meet at 4:30 p.m. May 22. It is the last meeting of the year. “One and Only Ivan” by Katherine Applegate will be discussed. Students also can make their own ice cream sundaes.

Natural health education program featuring essential oils will be presented by Ola Lombardi at 6:30 p.m. May 22. The program is free.

CitiBooks’ Spring Into Summer reading sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 27 and 28. A bag of books costs $5.

A representative from Community College of Allegheny County will discuss programs available at the college this summer and in the fall at at 6:30 p.m. May 28. An admissions counselor for the Washington County Center will be available to answer questions about applications and financial aid.
