NEW YORK (AP) – Mark Helprin’s next novel will have a touch of Hollywood.

Helprin has a deal with Henry Holt and Company for the novel “Avocado,” scheduled for the spring of 2015.

The publisher said in a statement Tuesday that “Avocado” tells the story of a married couple’s journey from Brooklyn to California after World War I, where they encounter the movie industry in the final years of the silent era.

The 66-year-old Helprin is known for such novels as “A Soldier of the Great War,” “Refiner’s Fire” and “Winter’s Tale,” a romantic historical fantasy that has been adapted into a film of the same name. The movie stars Colin Farrell and Jessica Brown Findlay. It’s scheduled to come out Feb. 14.
