OSP plans auditions for ‘The Mousetrap’

The Old Schoolhouse Players will hold open auditions for Agatha Christie’s classic mystery, “The Mousetrap,” from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 3 and 4 at the Mt. Pleasant Township Community Center, Hickory.

The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. A monologue is not necessary, although actors may deliver one.

Performance dates are Oct. 10-12 and 17-19.

Actors are needed to play the following characters:

• Mollie Ralston – mid-to-late 20s. She is the wife who inherited the manor that she and her husband have turned into a bed and breakfast.

• Giles Ralston – mid-to-late 20s. He is the husband of Mollie Ralston.

• Sgt. Trotter – mid-to-late 20s. The detective called to the manor to investigate.

• Maj. Metcalf – a former military officer in his 50s or 60s.

• Mr. Paravicini – a flamboyant gentleman in his 50s to 60s who sought shelter at the manor when his car got stuck in the snow.

• Mrs. Boyle- a chronic complainer and critic in her mid-30s to mid-60s.

• Christopher Wren- mid-to-late 20s. A rather excitable young man who comes to stay at the manor to escape his troubles.

• Miss Casewell – mid-to-late 20s. A rather mysterious woman who comes to stay at the manor and enjoys tormenting Mrs. Boyle.
