Buffalo Grange 1523 will meet at 7 p.m. Friday.
Jefferson Township Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the pavilion behind the Jefferson Township Fire Department, Eldersville. “Historic Frankfort Mineral Springs” will be presented by Patrick Adams, who has been an environmental educator at Raccoon Creek State Park since 1991. Located within Raccoon Creek State Park, the Historic Frankfort Mineral Springs complex was constructed in the early 1800s and thrived for nearly 100 years as a popular resort, best known for its mineral water, which was once believed to have “healing qualities.”
Bonkers for Bats program will begin at 8 p.m. July 24 at Shelter 4 at Mingo Creek County Park. Participants will discover adaptations of bats, examine bat guano under a microscope, participate in an activity and observe small brown bats as they depart a roost. Reservations are required by calling the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation at 724-228-6867.
